Baker Mayfield Apologizes For Planting The Flag At Ohio State

The Oklahoma quarterback said he didn’t mean for it to be disrespectful.

Baker Mayfield has apologized for his post-game celebration after the win at Ohio State on Saturday night.

Oklahoma’s quarterback grabbed an OU flag and circled the Ohio Stadium field with it before planting it at midfield inside the Block O.

Mayfield said at his press conference this afternoon that he didn’t mean for it to be disrespectful.

Mayfield was clearly thrilled to be able to celebrate on Ohio State’s field after having to watch the Buckeyes do the same at Oklahoma a season ago.

Oklahoma rose to No. 2 in the top 25 polls following the win at Ohio State.

Mayfield threw for 386 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 31-16 victory.
