All 4 Florida Schools Fell In The AP Poll, Despite Not Playing

Apparently all four teams looked a little worse in the eyes of the Associated Press despite not playing.

Four ranked college football teams based in Florida – Florida, Florida State, South Florida and Miami – were forced to cancel their games this past weekend because of the onset of Hurricane Irma. Apparently, that means they got worse at football too.

The latest AP Poll was released on Sunday afternoon, and all four schools fell in the rankings. Florida State dropped from No. 10 to No. 11. Miami fell from No. 16 to No. 17. USF fell from No. 21 to No. 22. And Florida fell from No. 22 to No. 24.

Pretty weird.

For the record, three of those four teams fell in the Coaches’ Poll too. Miami actually moved up two spots in that one, however.

No, this doesn’t really mean anything – rankings fluctuate more in the beginning of the season in college football anyway. But in a vacuum, you can see why fans would be a bit confused.
